COSTA DEL SOL: How to get there
By plane: The airport of Malaga (AGP) is located right in the center of the Costa del Sol. If there are no direct connections to Malaga from your home airport, Gibraltar airport is located 76 Km. from Estepona or you could book a flight to Malaga via Madrid (or eventually Barcelona). Here are the distances from Malaga airport to the most popular destinations: Torremolinos (8,5 km), Benalmadena (15 km), Malaga (17 km), Mijas (23 km), Fuengirola (25 km), Marbella (51 km), Nerja (73 km), Antequera (61 km), Estepona (81 Km) and Ronda (112 km). |
By car: All the beach resorts of the Costa del Sol are easily accessed through the highway A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo). The section on the AP-7 on the West coast, from Benalmadena to San Roque (Cadiz) is a toll road. An alternative route is the main road N-340, which leads through almost all the villages along the coast. |
By train: There are train connections to Malaga from all province capitals of Spain, as well as connections with the high-speed train AVE from Madrid, Cordoba and Antequera. The beach resorts of Benalmadena, Fuengirola y Torremolinos can be accessed by local trains from Malaga. |
